Madison County Medical Center adds renowned cardiologist to hospital staff

CANTON — Madison County Medical Center is pleased to announce the addition of Anurag Mehta, M.D., F.A.C.C., to its staff of physicians. A veteran cardiologist, Dr. Mehta brings years of experience to Canton and Madison County with quality cardiac care.

Dr. Mehta earned his degree from the University of Mysore in Karnataka, India, interned at Catholic Medical Center, New York and served his residency at West Virginia University. He also has worked at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and Louisiana State University Medical Center. Dr. Mehta has received accolades from the American Federation of Clinical Residents, the Biomedicine Conference and the American Federation of Medical Residents.

Dr. Mehta is board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiology and specializes in stent placements, echocardiography and vascular interventions. He treats patients with conditions related to diseases of the heart, blood vessels and related matters. Joe Weaver, CEO of Madison County Medical Center, said Dr. Mehta's addition is a huge bonus for the hospital.
